A showcase of exploration, discovery and inspiration.

University of Toronto - January 25th, 2013

ESEC is a one-day conference celebrating the breadth of challenges being solved in each of the 8 Engineering Science Disciplines.

On behalf of the Division of Engineering Science, and the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto, I would like to welcome you to the 8th annual Engineering Science Education Conference.

The conference will provide a snapshot of the research and professional activity at the forefront of the eight disciplines representing the EngSci Majors, delivered by a remarkably accomplished group of speakers. This is a unique opportunity for interaction between the thought leaders of today and those of the future, and I hope that you will both enjoy and make the most of it.

Professor Mark Kortschot, Ph.D., P.Eng.

Chair, Division of Engineering Science

On behalf of the executive team, we would like to welcome you to the 2013 Engineering Science Education Conference website. We have been working diligently to search for the most accomplished and exceptional professionals to give dedicated presentations.

The eight invited speakers are highly regarded in their respective fields; bringing diverse knowledge and experience with respect to industry, academia, and entrepreneurship. The speakers represent each of the eight Engineering Science options, and 4 are in fact graduates of this Engineering Science program. We hope that showcasing their successes will inspire all of you as future graduates of Engineering Science.

The purpose of this conference is to expose you, the student, to the many opportunities available to you within both industry and academia. Let this conference be an opportunity to inspire you - to help you decide what kind of engineer, scientist, or professional you want to become in the future.
